SSO (Single Sign-On) ek authentication aur access control ki prakriya hai jiska istemal kai alag-alag applications aur services mein ek bar login karke un sab tak pahunchne ke liye kiya jata hai. Iska mukhya uddeshya hai users ko alag-alag usernames aur passwords ya credentials yaad rakhne ki chinta se mukt karke unhe ek hi authentication source se multiple applications aur services tak pahunchne ki anumati dena.
SSO ke mukhya points hain:
1. Ek Hi Login: SSO ki madhyam se users ko ek hi login credentials (jaise ki username aur password) ka istemal karke multiple applications aur services tak pahunchne ki anumati milti hai. Isse unhe alag-alag login credentials yaad rakhne ki jarurat nahi hoti.
2. Security: SSO platforms, jaise ki SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) ya OAuth, strong authentication aur security features provide karte hain. Isse user accounts ki suraksha badhti hai.
3. User Convenience: SSO aapke users ke liye sujhav deta hai aur unhe convenience pradan karta hai, kyun ki unhe alag-alag services ke liye alag-alag login credentials yaad rakhne ki chinta nahi hoti.
4. Centralized Management: SSO ek centralized identity management system ke roop mein kaam karta hai. Isse administrators ko user accounts ko ek hi sthan se manage karne aur access control ko sudharne mein madad milti hai.
5. Cross-Platform Compatibility: SSO aksar cross-platform hota hai, matlab ki alag-alag applications aur services, chahe woh on-premises ho ya cloud-based, ke beech mein user authentication aur authorization ko integrate karne mein madad karta hai.
6. Session Management: SSO session management ko bhi sambhal sakta hai, jisse user authentication sessions ko track kiya ja sakta hai.
Kuch SSO ke prasiddh protocols hain:
- SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language): SAML ek XML-based authentication aur authorization protocol hai jo user identity aur attributes ko alag-alag web applications ke beech mein share karne ke liye istemal hota hai.
- OAuth (Open Authorization): OAuth ek open standard protocol hai jo third-party applications ko limited access permission deta hai aapke user accounts ke bina unke credentials ko share kiye.
- OpenID Connect: OpenID Connect ek identity layer hai jo OAuth 2.0 par adharit hai. Isse users apni digital identity ko alag-alag online services mein share kar sakte hain.
SSO systems aksar organizations, educational institutions, aur online service providers ke liye upayogi hote hain jisse users ko seamless access pradan kiya ja sake.
